Poetry Corner: I Digress

Poetry Corner: I Digress

Matter of fact,

I couldn't decide if today I would share what's inside.

On a mission to shatter the slave mentality's existence,

And produce controllable resistance.

Questioning does chasing Civil Liberties coincide with the American dream?

They call it speaking treason,

But my tongue told no lies.

Well, hey, they say speaking truth in reality is a honorable reason to die.
Breaking barriers but seeking no fame in modern society.

We would be considered lame.

Days after nights,

I find it hard to restrain watching my brothers & sisters claimed by the obedient mind frame.

On the journey to return back home from once we came,

Royalty now living & dying on our hands and knees.

I could never be at ease until my people cross back over the red slave bloodstained seas.
